Santa Orchard

Santa Claus is coming to town and six Orchard men are vying to be Santa’s helper.

A fun voting contest, sponsored by the Orchard Economic Development Association (OEDA), begins this week to determine the winner.

The volunteers participating are Neil Williby, Darin Wickersham, Brian Ferguson, Glen Cheatum, Dustin Cleveland and Chris Twibell. Each person will have a jar located at Dusty’s where people can vote with money for who they would like to see as Santa’s helper this year. The person who has the most money in his jar will be selected. The money collected will go towards the lighting at the park. The public is invited to vote from Thursday, Nov. 7 to Friday, Nov. 29.

“What a great way to kick off the upcoming holiday season,” organizer Tammy Cheatum said. “Make sure to stop in at Dusty’s and cast your vote.”

Santa will kick off the holiday season in Orchard with a stop on December 1 from 4 to 5:15 p.m. He will be available to hear wishes from children in the Village Park (weather permitting) or at the Rex Theater, in case of inclement weather.
