Pickup Fire

A pickup caught fire Thursday morning southwest of Neligh, and the driver was able to escape without injury.

According to Neligh Fire Chief Mike Mortensen, the driver was east bound when she noticed smoke coming from under the hood of her Dodge Dakota pickup around 10:40 a.m.

Jennie Paul, the driver and only occupant, rolled the vehicle to the intersection of 846 Road and 520 Avenue and escaped the fire without injury. Mortensen said a game warden witnessed and confirmed the details.

Neligh firefighters, Neligh Rescue and the Neligh Police responded. The pickup is considered a total loss.
