Area boys basketball teams will start subdistrict play, Monday, Feb. 18, continuing through Thursday, Feb. 21.
A trip to the district finale and potential opportunity to play in the 2019 NSAA State Boys Basketball Tournament is on the line.
The fifth-seeded Ewing Tigers will play EPPJ, Monday, Feb. 18 at Atkinson West Holt, in the Class D2-5 district.
Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
The winner of that contest will advance to meet the top-seeded Stuart Broncos at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19.
Second-seeded St. Mary’s will meet CWC, the third seed, that evening at 7 p.m.
Winners of Tuesday evening games will meet Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.
The Cyclones will compete in the Class D1-6 district, held at Creighton High School.
On Monday, Feb. 18, North Central, the fourth seed, will face fifth-seeded Niobrara/Verdigre, at 7 p.m.
The winner of that contest will meet the number one seed, West Holt, at 6 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
The nightcap will feature OC, who enters as the third seed, against Boyd County.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Winners from Tuesday games will play Thursday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m.
Neligh-Oakdale will travel to O’Neill for the Class C2-8 district.
On Tuesday, Feb. 19, top-seeded Ainsworth will face Creighton in a 6 p.m. contest.
The Warriors, who enter as the second seed, will play Battle Creek at 7:45.
Tuesday evening winners will advance to the subdistrict final, scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21.
