Funeral services for LoRee Mott, age 97, formerly of Ewing, were Saturday, Nov. 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Church of Christ in Ewing, with Pastor Wes Thompson officiating. 

Visitation was Saturday, Nov. 18 at 9 a.m. Burial was at Ewing City Cemetery in Ewing. 

Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater handled the arrangements. 

LoRee died Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill. Condolences may be directed to the family at


LoRee Anna Wondercheck Mott was born July 3, 1920 to Frank and Hulda Beulah (Davis) Wondercheck at Atkinson. She attended school at Atkinson and graduated with the class of 1938. 

On Dec. 24, 1940, she was united in marriage to Grant Mott in Atkinson. They made their home in Ewing where she helped him on the farm. Grant died in July 1966. 

LoRee married Clyde Burge in 1968. She moved to Kearney in 1976 and attended Central Community College for dietary school. She worked at Mother Hull Nursing Home as a dietitian in Kearney until retiring. LoRee moved back to Ewing in September 2005. 

She enjoyed embroidery, reading Christian books and was an avid Husker fan. She was a member of WCTU, Church of Nazerene, Jolly Workers Club in Ewing and attended Church of Christ. For the last five years, she resided at Evergreen Assisted Living in O’Neill. 

LoRee is survived by daughter, Sharon (Lawrence) Hinrichsen of Ewing and their children, Michael (Leon) Hinrichsen, Jody (Doug) Beed, Judi Sigler, Janeen (Suhas) Joshi and Matt Hinrichsen; daughter, Tami (Rusty) Davis of Dallas, Texas and their children, Amber (Phil) Lee, Emily (Juan) Contreras and Geoff (Melissa) Davis; the children of the late Ronald Mott, Rhonda (Billy) Hammock of O’Neill, Gregg (Cindy) Mott, Tim Mott and Sheila; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Bessie (Bill) Gallino of Valentine, Rita (Sid) Boe of North Dakota, Nancy Garringer of Kearney and Joy (Jim) Wertz of Kimball and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents; husbands; daughter-in-law, Jacque Mott; son, Ronald; brother, Oscar “Bud” Wondercheck; sisters, Beulah Johnson, Viola Jackson, Wilma Francis and Vesta Taylor and great-grandson, Hayden.
